Sarah Yanni (b. 1995) is a Mexican-Egyptian writer and editor in Los Angeles whose work considers daughterhood, nationhood, and the conflicting capacities of language. She is the author of Hard Crush (Wonder Press, 2024) and ternura / tenderness (Bottlecap Press, 2019). A Best of the Net nominee, her work can be found in the Los Angeles Review of Books, Pleaides, Mizna, Nat Brut, Wildness, APOGEE, and elsewhere. She has received support from The Getty Research Institute, LA Department of Cultural Affairs, Tin House, Center for Cultural Innovation, and The REEF, among others. She holds an MFA from CalArts and presently sits on their Alumni Council.
